General Hotel Information

Where are you located? Are you on the ocean? The Shearwater Inn overlooks the ocean in the center of Lincoln City just north of the D’River. Most of our rooms have beautiful ocean views, but we are not right on the ocean. We are across the street from the beach.

Do you have beach access? There is easy beach access right across the street from the hotel next to Kyllo’s Restaurant.

What are your office hours? The office is open 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. each day. If you have an urgent need or an emergency after hours, there is always a staff member available to assist. Dial 0 from your room or call 541-994-4121 to reach an employee after hours.

What are your check-in and check-out times? Check-in is at 4 p.m. and Check-out is 11 a.m. The hotel office closes at 10 p.m. If you are going to arrive after 10 p.m., please call us at 541-994-4121 to make arrangements.

Do you offer breakfast? Mornings begin with a light, complimentary continental breakfast delivered to your room at a time you specify between 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Guests make their breakfast choices the night before. Choices include a muffin, granola with fruit and yogurt, coffee cake, hot oatmeal, hardboiled egg, banana, yogurt, and juice. All rooms have a full-size coffee pot and local gourmet coffee is provided.

Is parking available? Complimentary parking is available onsite for hotel guests. Guests may have one car per room, except those staying in the Two Bedroom Suites are allowed two cars.

Reservations and Policies

How old do you need to be to reserve a room? To reserve a hotel room guests must be 21 years old. 

Do you need a credit card to reserve a room? Is the card charged at the time of reservation? All reservations require a credit card to guarantee. The card is held and isn’t charged until your arrival. Reservations over the 4th of July will be charged an advance deposit of one night at the time of reservation.

What is your cancellation policy? We require 72 hours’ notice to cancel. If the cancellation is made with less than 72 hours’ notice, we will charge for the first night of the stay. During holiday time periods and special events, we require two weeks’ notice.

Do you have any specials or packages? We have both. We offer specials throughout the year. Sign up for our mailing list to be the first to know – Stay In the Know. We have two wonderful packages, the Northwest Snack Package and the Romance Package – Visit Special Offers for more information.

Rooms and Suites

Are your rooms non-smoking? All of our rooms and decks are non-smoking. Guests will be charged a $200 fee if they smoke in a room. 

Is Wi-Fi included? Yes, there is complimentary Wi-Fi in all rooms, and throughout the property.

Do the rooms have gas fireplaces? Yes, all the rooms have gas fireplaces.

Do your rooms have balconies? Most of our rooms have ocean-view balconies with two chairs and a small table. The Standard Rooms on the second floor have Juliette balconies which are mini balconies that allow you to safely open the sliding glass door to allow fresh air, but you cannot step out onto it.

Do your rooms have kitchens? All of our rooms have refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee makers. All the One Bedroom Suites and Two Bedroom Suites have full kitchens with a sink, cooktop, oven, utensils, dishes, bowls, and pots and pans.

Do you provide coffee in the rooms? All of the rooms include complimentary coffee from a local company, Left Coast Coffee. One coffee packet is provided daily. It will make a full-sized pot of coffee. Decaf packets are available.

Dog-Friendly

Is the Shearwater Inn dog-friendly? Yes, we allow 2 dogs per room with a maximum combined weight of 75 pounds. The top floor is dog free, but all the other floors allow dogs. Each dog is $25 per night. Dogs may not be left uncrated in the room. We have crates to borrow if needed. We only allow dogs; no other pets are permitted in the rooms. 

Can dogs be off-leash? On the property, dogs must be on a leash at all times. Dogs are allowed on Oregon beaches off-leash as long as they are under voice command.

Visiting Lincoln City

Are beach bonfires allowed on the beach? Bonfires are permitted on the beach. All fires must abide by the Oregon Coast state parks guidelines – Oregon Shore State Recreation Area. During very dry periods fires may be banned.

What will happen in the event of a Tsunami? In the event of a tsunami, sirens will sound. If you hear the sirens, follow the posted tsunami evacuation signs to higher ground. There is a weekly tsunami warning system test on Wednesday. During that time the siren will only go for 20 seconds.
